Started working on a Dwarf mountain stronghold.  The pics below are a few weeks old, as there has been more progress on the second half of the stronghold... will post those pics later.

The idea is threefold -
1) To have a large intricate terrain centerpiece that covers a 2x4 end section of the gaming table
2) A fully functional piece of terrain that can actually be used in a game instead of just for looks
3) A display for my large Dwarf army (it's at a full 6,000 points if I use special characters)

The pics below are of the mountain section outside of the stronghold, as well as watch tower/ranger tower, and mine entrance (below the tower).  I am going to have a platform on the side of the watchtower that will be used as a gyrocopter landing pad.

The other section will be mostly fortress and entrance that looks like it was carved from the mountain side, along with parts of the warhammer fortress kit that will be embedded in the mountain side.  I want to be sure to leave enough open space so that this can be used for both displaying my army as well as being able to use it in a game.

There was a TON of pink foam shavings all over the garage and myself....  it really does make an ungodly mess.
