Return to the Old World....

It's been a long time since I last gamed (AoS) and had "soft retired" from gaming, but The Old World has released (for about a year at this point), and nostalgia got me thinking about Warhammer and hobbying again. My old WFB/AoS gaming group wanted to get together and relive rank and flank, and we're planning for a game of The Old World soon!

I'm a Chaos lifer (Hordes of Chaos were my og army since starting in 6th ed WFB) and I have played mixed and mono god lists of each of the pantheon as well as stand alone Beastmen back with their first every armybook in 7th ed. I've even played them in AoS (they were very fun then) but unfortunately they were squatted from the system recently.

Since they are a core faction in TOW, I thought it was time to muster the forces and gather up what I have from all the dusty boxes and get 'em ready!

I have a pretty modest collection; a lotta Gor and Ungor picked up second hand from a friend, and I have the AoS Start Collecting box. Not a lot, but a good starting point to get back into the hobby!

Here's some that were based on rounds for AoS:

The Start Collecting Box for AoS
The AoS Beastmen

Ungor Raider

Bestest of the Bestigor

Braying Shaman

Ghorgonzola

These guys are from the AoS Start Collecting box for Beasts of Chaos. Display wise, I think minis look good on rounds. The Ghorgon in the back, fortunately was not glued to the base, as I was going to do some further gap filling (guess that never happened, lol).

Beastmen have changed bases sizes since Warhammer Fantasy; Ungors, Gors are 25mms, characters can be on either 25mm or 30mm, and the Ghorgon is now on 60x100mm. Time to rebase!

There was a trick that I used to rebase my Chaos Warriors from 8th ed to AoS, which was to freeze em, causing the super glue to become brittle and then snap em off the bases....

Unfortunately the Beastmen, don't have the cankles of the Chaos Warriors, so pulling on them is causing damage to the models. So time for some base chopping:

Snip snip time...
Snip snip time!

More to come...
